The engineered wood and forestry sector is inherently hazardous, with common risks including:
Heavy machinery incidents
Ergonomic injuries from repetitive tasks
Fire and explosion hazards from wood dust
Exposure to chemicals used in wood treatment
Prior to this initiative, LP, like many companies in the sector, faced challenges in maintaining a world-class Total Incident Rate (TIR) and ensuring long-term workforce safety. Despite the company’s longstanding commitment to safety, the goal was to further reduce risks proactively and integrate data-driven safety innovations to set a new industry benchmark for workplace safety.
